Hi, and welcome to Spring (in the Southern Hemisphere). Officially we still have a week to go but nature doesn't wait for the calendar. New buds are bursting out, the birds and bees are busy and you can sense the change in the air. We are transitioning from the consolidation and contraction of Winter to the vigour of Spring. I love the winter here on the Gold Coast and it seemed to have passed so quickly. But Spring is just as gorgeous and it's a perfect time to 'clean up and throw out'. More on that later.
In this issue I want to let you know about a new movie called 'The Secret'. It was born of a Melbourne woman's pain and frustration which led her on a personal search for answers. If you know of the movie 'What the Bleep' you will be aware of similar concepts. This movie is particularly well produced and directed and I want to touch on one of the aspects from the movie today.

Rhonda Byrne's life was in turmoil. Feeling overworked and exhausted, her important relationships were in tatters and after the sudden death of her father, she was at a very low point in her life. Yet from her greatest despair came her greatest gift. She started a journey to find how to set right the parts of her life that were not working. As she discovered some 'universal secrets', she had the inspiration to use her own journey as a teaching point for others. The end result is a fabulous resource for new and well traveled adventurers on the 'search for meaning' trail. She interviewed scientists, philosophers, health practitioners, teachers and coaches to create 'The Secret'. This DVD will keep you fascinated and intrigued. Even on the second or more viewings you will think they snuck in more material that wasn't there before. They touch on Chaos Theory, Quantum Physics, visualization skills, the Law of Attraction, purpose and meaning. I recommend you get your own copy . Click here for the official website and you can order the DVD from this site
In keeping with the theme of Spring, new beginnings
etc there is one particular aspect they speak of that I will highlight here. It is a common life experience that when we are down (enough) there is only one place to go - upwards. There is a point of 'enough is enough' and, from here, we take the steps to turn our life around. Robert Kiyosaki (author of the 'Rich Dad Poor Dad' series) used the phrase,

'For the world to change, first I must change'. |
Something has to give...or we break. The thing that has to give, is us changing our mind about something. Perhaps we need a reality check, a shake up, a crisis to awaken us to our 'folly of mind'. Once we take that step of determining to changing our mind, all manner of resources, people and situations seem to conspire to further our growth. I mentioned before that traditionally winter is an inward time of consolidation and spring is the venturing forth of new ideas, momentum and growth. This then, is the perfect time to re-assess where we are, to clean out the old, look forward to creating the new and take those necessary steps to ensure that the next season produces the fruit we want.
This weekend I'll be in the garden, cleaning out weeds and nurturing the soil. Next I'll decide what to plant...and I'll share more from 'The Secret ' in the next issue. |
