This got me thinking about numbers and their meaning...and why we choose certain dates to commemorate an event. Armistice Day was celebrated 11 days ago but do you know why that particular date was chosen? read on...

Many years ago when working nightshifts in the computer industry, I noticed that there was a certain time of night that seemed the darkest. Mostly it was around 4.00am. The night sky would be pitch black. And then, soon after, the early signs of an approaching dawn would slowly reveal itself. In the dim but growing light, the birds would herald the beginning of another day ...but I noticed it was always darkest just before the dawn.
Years later I learned the meaning of Armistice Day celebrating the end of World War One. It was deliberately set for 11.00am of 11 th day of the 11 th month of the year. This was because the powers of the day believed that the Great War would be the end of wars and that peace would reign thereafter. It was a hopeful, if not naive, sentiment. In essence, Armistice Day acknowledges and celebrates the ‘darkness before the dawn'
Metaphysically, the 11th Hour is the final test before manifestation. It is the opportunity to determine to the universe that the dream you hold in your heart is what you deeply want and believe in. So the universe conspires to see if you mean business. It will shake up your world, tempt you to let go of your precious cargo and accept less, to give into doubt and fear. Just as love brings up everything unlike itself for the purpose of healing, so does the universe seek to test our commitment and determination.
It has been said that our deepest dreams and aspirations are seeds from God (add your interpretation of 'God' here!). So if we really do believe strongly in a dream, understand that God always works for the highest good for all concerned in all ways. Sometimes we believe we have the answer and yet we, at best, have limited understanding of the greater plan. The best we can ask for is the highest that God has for us and to imagine in our own way the best we can ever imagine. Further, to hold to that with the desire for the highest to happen, knowing that ultimately we may not know what form that will take. This is not an opportunity to then accept less than we can imagine or start to rationalize why we should accept less.
You may have experienced something similar in your own life. You set a high goal, work towards it and just when it seems it will happen, things start to unravel and fall apart. But while others are doubting and wanting to give up, you don't. Then, as if by magic, synchronicity and grace smooth the path forward and your goal is achieved. This is a story told in a million ways every day. Sadly even more millions give up just before they were about to reap the rewards.
The concept of the 11 th hour offers us the opportunity to 'see' the very best, despite our fears and doubts...and then to completely relax in deep peace, knowing that our words and actions can be guided from within from a place of inner security and knowledge. No matter what is said or done, at all times hold to the highest vision, knowing that God will always say 'yes' to our strongest imagining. Our job is to create the highest imaginings we can. ..and stick with it!
A wise friend of mine remarked that he knew when his was about to manifest his goal because everything seemed to be about to fall over. He understood the 11 th hour and the truth was, here was his final test.
Simple but not always easy.
