Hello ...you'll notice the newsletter is delivered differently - straight to it without the plain text link. How come? Well, I'm experimenting with a new email delivery service. I'm still learning what it can do and I think it will be an improvement. Some of my readers were only getting the newsletters sporadically. Hopefully your spam filters will allow an html message through!

So Easter is here again...already. Seems only last week we were eating chocolate bunnies! We're staying put here at Currumbin. From past experience the roads will be clogged at certain times (we're near two highways) so we're stocking up (organic chocolate bunnies, of course) and a good book will see me on the hammock.

What about you? In any case, I wish you a safe, health and harmonious break.

This month's topic is about relationships and the reason why some people show in our lives. Are they here for...

A reason, season or a lifetime?

Now I don't know who wrote this but it can be a useful guide when you think of the people who come into your life, whether they be family, friends, clients, colleagues, lovers or strangers.

Are you a Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime?

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for
each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need
you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to
provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally,
or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend, and they are! They are there for
the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realise
is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The
prayer you sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on.

Then people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come
to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace, or make you
laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give
you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things you must build
upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept
the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all
other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love
is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

The point is that regardless of who comes into your life and what they bring, it is possible (not always easy!) to gain in knowledge and wisdom. And when I reflect on my life, some of the most valuable lessons have come from the most disguised teachers!

So, back to the bunnies. Enjoy the Easter break - may it be safe, relaxing and fun.

Review of the Ayurvedic cooking class last Saturday

What a yummy time we all had last Saturday! Our delightful friends, Lorien and Claire expertly took us on a journey of discovery through the basics of Ayurvedic medicine including the principles of nutrition.
First we learned how to make beautiful Chai tea and a smooth semolina porridge. Then while we enjoyed both of those treats we watched as Lorien and Claire prepared our lunch - besen flour panckes, cumin rice and moong dhal. Hmmmmm!
We also figured out what 'types' (Vata, Pitta or Kapha) we all were and what that means as far as what we eat for optimal health. Add delightful companions and great conversations and you have a wonderful start to the weekend.
There was a resounding chorus of 'When's the next one?!' and they assure us they plan to host more delicious workshops. For further details, email me with 'Yummy for my Tummy' in the subject line and I'll email you the next dates
