About Bill

The juice of coaching for me is bringing out the ‘greatness' in my clients. Greatness is more than ‘best', more accessible than ‘potential', more innate than our skin. It is always in the back of my mind, whether we formally discuss it or not. Where does their greatness lie? Is it in this pursuit or will it emerge later? How will we know? What needs to happen to encourage greatness to come to the fore? It is a deep privilege to influence the old age battle between illusion and greatness.

My clients frequently inspire me. Certain individuals over the years have shown me that no matter how big a challenge appears, there is always a way through. And that our capacity to scare ourselves is never as powerful as our inner courage. Courage is so often revealed from our tragedies. Greatness always wants to peep out into the world.

For me, continual learning is paramount. That yearning for learning has kept me open. Sometimes I laugh at the things I have chosen to teach. They are often a reflection of what I need than anything else! Yet I love to learn something useful and then pass it on. This has been a pattern for over 20 years and I am grateful for that.

What particular experiences stand out? Working the Australian National Skydiving Team was a particular blast! Especially as they taught me how to jump from a plane at 16,500 ft, 17 times over 10 days. I re-learned about fear - and how to deal with my internal creativity (my ability to scare myself witless!). They were so much fun to work with.

One of my greatest challenges was working with a group of ‘kids at risk'. These were youngsters on their way to a life of crime and our mission was to head them off at the pass! I have never been so challenged, frustrated and rewarded. They took nothing and everything for granted. They questioned everything yet frequently left those things of greater importance unquestioned. I joke they prepared me for working in the corporate world!

Who do I work with best? Even though they can be challenging, I do enjoy open minded cynics with a willingness to learn. The key is willingness. With that all is possible.

Brief background

Many years ago I left the corporate world to follow a different path. As Computer Operations Manager for a national white goods company, I had plenty of responsibility but it wasn't satisfying. I knew how computers worked but I wanted to find out what made me tick. So began a new journey, which still continues. Accelerated Learning technology was a passion for over 15 years as was various personal development trainings. All this experience I bought back into the corporate world.

Ten years ago, I completed the inspiring and challenging Advanced Professional Training Program in training design, presentation and facilitation skills utilizing ‘Generative Learning' and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). Designed by International Master NLP trainer, Marvin Oka, its depth and breadth has never been duplicated in Australia . I undertook the NLP Master Practitioner program with the same organisation and am also accredited with Myer-Briggs Typology Indicator and Train the Trainer.
I am a Certified Executive Coach, a Certified Practitioner of Meta States® Coaching Genius and a member of the International Association of Coaches
